Introduction

The goal of this Human Biology book is to provide you with an understanding and appreciation of the natural world from a scientific perspective. The fundamental objective of this book is to provide you with the knowledge and skills necessary for informed and responsible citizenship. Specifically, you will demonstrate a reasonable understanding of the scientific process, the unifying principles of the life sciences and the human connection to the natural world.

This book focuses on humans as biological entities. Introduces the scientific process, chemical and cellular bases of life, role of DNA in the continuity of life, evolution, and interrelationships among humans and other living organisms. Introduces the anatomy and physiology of the human body.
