Final POPS Presentation

This presentation is your capstone to this course.  Your group presentation should demonstrate your efforts on your Physiology of Physiology Students (POPS) research project.  Learning how to talk to others about your research is an essential skill for any scientist and will also greatly benefit you as a skill even if you choose not to pursue science as a career.  Talking in public is something that scares most people.  Being well prepared is key to keeping you calm.

You (Links to an external site.)Your presentation MUST include your Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion/Conclusion/Citations – all the parts you have been working on all semester.  Do NOT have slides full of words.  YOU and your group are the words, make the slides are full of pictures/graphs/data that illustrate your points.  Every member of your group must participate in the final presentation (each must present) and each must answer at least 2 questions at the end of their presentation.  If you cannot answer the question with a demonstration of scientific literacy then points will be deducted for your specific grade.  You get one chance to do this so do your best work.

Also please remember that you will be presenting to your peers and that they are all having to present as well so you are in a supportive environment.  Let this assignment not only allow you to shine as researchers, but also let it be a deep learning situation for yourself and others.

A detailed Rubric is attached below, and its guidelines are what your Lab Professor will follow to grade your presentation.
